Each day in the run-up to the finals, we’re doing two tracks from the 2015 Eurovision Song Competition and
tearing them to shreds analysing them carefully in a bid to predict the winner on May 23rd.
LITHUANIA: Monika Linkyte & Vaidas Baumila – “This Time”
MOSH: I’m not sure what to make of this one. The performances aren’t bad, they rhythm’s able… but there’s just something overwhelmingly sickening about the lyrics. And it’s incredibly repetitive. Incredibly repetitive. Incredibl… you get the idea. 3/5
DAVE: This is one for the romantics out there, plus it’s full of sugar. I can’t say anything bad about it because it is just so sweet. The music is quite upbeat and really does pack a punch, but seriously…the lyrics are going to leave you rushing out to brush your teeth to get rid of the sugar bugs. 3/5
LATVIA Aminata – “Love Injected”
MOSH: I think I hated this one within three seconds of it starting. It did improve, but by that point I’d already consigned it to a pit of despair into which I would launch my enemies or decades to come. The twee “little girl” voice in some sections reminds me of Bjork and her excuse for music makes me sick. Then it throws in some “big” vocals, followed by a wealth of synth effects like a bunch of chimps have played with the settings and recorded their own farts backwards. I need to shower my ears. NUL PWA and then some.
DAVE: It’s called “Love Injected”….FNARR!!!! Now that puerile nonsense is out of the way, this is a strange one. The musical opening sounds a bit like Depeche Mode (who I like) and then goes a bit dubstep. The vocal is good but doesn’t seem to fit the song. I just can’t my head around this one at all. 2/5
Bro, u are big time Retard !!! latvia 5/5
Dave – some guy’s calling you a retard…
