Each day in the run-up to the finals, we’re doing two tracks from the 2015 Eurovision Song Competition and
tearing them to shreds analysing them carefully in a bid to predict the winner on May 23rd.
BELARUS: Uzari – “Time”
MOSH – Bonus point for being precisely three minutes and zero seconds long. I’m a stickler for accuracy. Minus points for sounding like everything thrown at us by Cowell and Co. for the last couple of decades. I’m a stickler for music that doesn’t sound like it came out of a corporate machine. 1/5
DAVE – MAKE IT STOP!! Oh, hold on….the piano intro doesn’t last long. Oh yeah – this one is going to have the crowd up bopping. Where is Belarus? I’m booking a flight over for the Eurovision party. 5/5
SWITZERLAND: Mélanie René – “Time To Shine”
MOSH – Ah, Switzerland – land of chocolate, pocket knives and neutrality. Exemplified by this utterly middle-of-the-road effort. So I’ll be neutral with my marking as well. 3/5
DAVE – Good things to come out of Switzerland: cheese, toblerone, watches, The Red Cross. Bad things to come out of Switzerland: this song. NUL PWA!
