Just in time for the holidays, acclaimed folk/Americana band Track Dogs is brightening the holiday season with their new Christmas-themed album, a 7-track collection featuring two brand-new songs alongside their holiday classics from the past 14 years. Known for their vibrant fusion of Americana, jazz, and Latin influences, Track Dogs have created a festive album that celebrates the diversity of the holiday season with their signature style.
The album introduces two fresh recordings:
- “Tex MeXmas” – An upbeat and playful ode to a Tex-Mex-inspired Christmas. The track reimagines the season with a fronterizo twist: swapping out the traditional tree for a cactus and turkey for burritos and tacos. The lively instrumentation and infectious rhythm make it a celebration like no other.
- “The Night Before Christmas” – A musical adaptation of Clement Clarke Moore’s beloved poem, with the idea conceived by band member Robbie K. Jones. Originally conceived as a simple arrangement of banjo, mandolin, guitar, and voices, the song evolved into a rich soundscape of 254 tracks. Featuring strings by Eli Bishop (Nashville), piccolo by Mick Doonan (The Hunch), and harmonies by Yorkshire duo Bryony Griffith & Alice Jones, this track is a masterclass in collaborative musical magic.
