Xenosis are from St Ives, Cornwall which most people probably know from a riddle about some guy walking a stupidly large family who’s not even fucking going there anyway. Basically it falls into the general category of “down south” along with London, Bristol, Manchester and so on. Hey, I’m from Newcastle – deal with it.
Their facefart profile describes them as straddling the death, progressive and experimental genres. Their debut album, Of Chaos & Turmoil came out in January this year and a sample track from it is below.
Certainly it seems to have that element of originality they were aiming for. Changing tempos, judicial use of electronic sounds and a heavy sound ensure they do indeed span genres without sounding forced into any.
