I didn’t pick this band because of the similarity of their name to that of the south stand of Newcastle United’s St James’ Park. Honest. That’s just a coincidence. I think they followed #MoshTimes on Twitter and it spiraled from there.
Gallows Gate hail from Preston, home of the FA’s football museum (Preston were the first ever Football League winners in 1888 and , shit, I’m off on a random one today). They’re a four-piece, have been around since 2012 as a group and have recently released their self-titled debut EP.
Their sound drops like an anvil into the “heavy rock” category – think Alter Bridge sort of stuff – and they certainly show a lot of promise. As ever, follow the links and make your own minds up.
