With a sound that reminds me a little of Andrew W.K. with a slightly grungier overtone in places, a smattering of The Lone Rangers (go on – name that film) and even a dash of Weird Al, In the Whale are refreshing and fun.
Surprisingly, the band consists of only two and they’ve each effectively released a mini-album. Nate has four tracks and Eric has three (together released as a single album, Nate & Eric). They also have another 4-track called Cake.
Yes, they’re slightly oddball but the music is good. Pure, bouncy rock’n’roll, well (but not over) produced and fun. You can check out all their tracks on bandcamp.
