Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Tel Aviv, Israel.
How did you meet?
Lavy: I met Jessie when he was the drummer for a band called Got No Shame in 2007. I was in my own band, our bands had a few shows together back then. A few years down the line, in 2010, I ed his band and we went on our first US tour.
Jessie: So around 2012, our old band broke up but Lavy and I kept writing music with different musicians forming Project Revival with a new frontman. My brother Nadav jumped in on guitars around 2013.
Nadav: My old band broke up at 2012. About a year after I ed Project Revival where I met Lavy for the first time, and well, Jessie is my big brother so we kinda knew each other for while! They both played together for a few years already and I always loved what they do so I was psyched to the band.
Jessie: Then we went on to record our first album together. Shortly after the album was done and released, our frontman left to do his own thing and we were stranded again.
Lavy: We decided to keep going no matter what. It actually made it a bit easier to have fewer people involved and we were not interested in doing live shows at the time, so there was no need to look for the new band . We came up with a few songs and figured I should be the one to sing them.
How long have you been playing as a band?
We’ve been around for over a year as The FullBug and we’ve been playing together for 5 years overall.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
We were looking for a band name for some time. Jessie is a big Van Halen fan, and he came across their song “The Full Bug” and an interview with David Lee Roth, where he explains it’s slang for “Give it everything you got”. It was either this or Alison Chairs!
What are your influences?
Anything guitar oriented gets our juices flowing. We always go back to our classic influences like Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen and such. Influences from recent years include Death From Above 1979, Royal Blood, Biffy Clyro and Maylene & The Sons of Disaster.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Rock. Big rock drums with loud guitar riffs. If you are into that, check it out! What makes the music unique to us is that we write it and enjoy it.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
One would say our lyrics revolve mostly around anger, disappointment, hard times letting go of the past and self reflection. We’re still trying to write that “feel good” song, no luck yet!
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Our live shows are powerful, energetic and sweaty! On stage we try to give it our all, anyone coming to see us will have a blast!
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
Lavy: I’m using my Gibson Gothic Morte, had it for 10 years now, usually amped with a Marshall JCM or an Orange RK100. The guitars on our EP was recorded with a Hughes-and-kettner TriAMP Mark 3 and an Orange RK100.
Nadav: For the past 6 years or so I’ve been using a Gibson Les Paul Standard. As for amps, I tend to mostly go for nice Marshalls, I love the sound you can get with these amps, I also like to play around with different amps, anything that will get me that kickass sound.
Jessi: DW collectors – 24 BD, bought the kit around 2004. I have 4 custom snare drums I’ve built myself and I always play around with but actually for the EP I recorded on Pearl Vinnie Paul signature model – it’s a killer! I also use Paiste giant beats, 24” as a ride and a 20” for my 2 crash cymbals. And last but not least – Iron Cobra BD pedal.
What are your plans for 2018/19?
Our plans are to get our music out and kicking as much as possible! We plan to release two music videos for the Black Hole Syndrome EP and we’re trying to figure out a way to go on tour without going bankrupt. And well, we’re always working on new songs, at some point we’ll take the time to completely focus on our first LP.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be ing and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
We’d love to Florence Black or Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. Also, Breath After Coma from Athens, Rival Bones from the UK and Ziggy Splynt from the Netherlands are great bands that we’d love to be on a bill with.
