Band of the Day: High Moonlight

A short but sweet one to satiate you today.

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

We are from São Paulo, Brazil.

How did you meet?

We met at shows we used to frequent.

How long have you been playing as a band?

We are together with the current lineup just over a year ago.

Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?

The name of the band was inspired by the magic of the moon and the werewolves. Many of my lyrics cover mystic themes.

What are your influences?

My main musical influences are bands like Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Megadeth, Rainbow and Dio. I really like guitarists like Ritchie Blackmore, Jason Becker, Ross the Boss and Tony Iommi.

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

What makes my songs unique is that they are authentic. They are authentic because I use the right formula to build a quality song and a strong candidate to become a classic. The right formula that I use is very simple and well-known by all: striking and creative riffs, beautiful melodies and inspired solos. You just have to check our Soundcloud and YouTube to see what I mean.

Do you have any particular lyrical themes?

I really like two of our songs called “Inovaya” and “Arcturians”.

What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?

Our live shows go straight to the point: we play and have fun together with the audience. We try to spend all the high spirits that our songs have. With this new lineup we have played a few shows, around eight to ten shows…we are very focused on producing new material.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

At one of our concerts the audience was very lively and many were climbing on stage to jump back into the audience. The problem was that apparently the structure of the stage was not so safe and was shaking too much. It was tense as it seemed that the entire stage would collapse when these guys would come to jump there.

What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?

I have used a Digitecch RP 500 pedalboard, EVL-K4 Cort guitar and BlackStar brand amps. A very simple kit.

What are your plans for 2019?

Record an official CD, it and release it on digital platforms and in physical format as well and go on tour.

If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be ing and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!

I would like to the band Star One (a project by musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen) or a really cool band called Fatal Scream, check out their sound. and would like to open for the band Accept or Megadeth.
