Again, something a little different today. Rather than a straightforward cover, we have a novel parody track. Linzey Rae, singer with metalcore act The Anchor, treats us to a scream-licious cookery lesson with this recipe for shepherd’s pie, set to the tune of The Ghost Inside’s “The Great Unknown”.
So you can enjoy this track on several levels. It’s a great bit of music, a clever twist on the original and it involves delicious food. What’s not to like?
The Anchor actually have a little collection of cover tracks (along with their own material) over on bandcamp, including this one. All with a “name your price” tag. So if you got a laugh out of Linzey’s video, why not buy them a beer to say “thanks”? Every dollar they raise in sales of this track go direct to The Ghost Inside who recently suffered a lot of injuries in a bus crash in which their driver was killed.
The original track’s available from The Ghost Inside’s iTunes page as well, so if you want to them directly then that’s as good a way as any, or pick up some of their merch.
