Cold Snap aren’t the first band to cover Nancy Sinatra’s piece of feminist propaganda – Megadeth most famously had it on their first album with some subtle lyrical changes (resulting in the “bleeped” version on the 2004 reissue). However, Croatia’s groove-metal behemoths have sat on their cover for four years to ensure they got the right licensing.
Originally played to end their 2012 Wacken performance, the opening line gives this away as “These boots are made for Wacken”. Finally, in 2016, those who weren’t at the festival get to hear this rather excellent version.
