Miami groove metallers The Killing Hours recently launched their debut album “I, Catharsis,” a release that’s full of great hooks. We asked them some questions, and here is what they say about the record and touring.
Alright, first thing is first. Before we dive into all the music stuff, how’s life?
Everything is looking very good, things are as they should be. On that grind.
Speaking of new music, you have an album released in October 2015. What can people expect from I, Catharsis?
We feel that theres something in it for everyone regardless of what music you’re into. It’s fast, it’s heavy it’s technical and lot of dynamics.
What was it like working on the album?
It was a really fun and organic process, we had been working on the songs for over a year before we went into the studio so we pretty much knew what we wanted going in. It just felt right.
Are there any touring plans in to I, Catharsis?
We just came back from an east coast run late 2015. We have planned some time in March to go on the road again and we’re planning for a few more in the summer of 2016 as well.
While we are on the subject of touring, what countries would you love to tour?
We would love to play anywhere in Europe and Japan would be cool too.
Who and what inspires you the most?
We are inspired by the love of music and all of its forms and really everything in some ways.
What other genres of music do you listen to? Have any of the other genres you listen to had any impact on your playing?
Jazz, hip-hop, latin, really all types of music has an impact on us in some way.
I really appreciate you giving us your time today. Is there anything else you would like to tell us and the fans before we wrap things up?
We have already begun writing new material for the next album which hopefully will be released late this year or early next year. Other than that, hope to see you all on the road in 2016.
