Interview: Make Way For Man

make-way-for-man-evolve-repairMake Way For Man is a progressive metalcore band from Perth in Australia who released their debut EP Evolve & Repair back in March. We sat down with bassist Adam Mather to talk about the record.

Alright, first thing is first. Before we dive into all the music stuff, how’s life?

Fantastic! Were just coming to the end of winter here finally, it’s been a cold & wet one, looking forward to the sun coming out and thawing us out.

Speaking of new music, you have an EP. What can people expect from Evolve and Repair?

We do and I am very proud of it.
You can expect inspiring grooves, balls out heavy sections, insane solos, incredible memorable chorus’s and enough energy to make you never skip a leg day ever again.
We feel we have managed to create an all-round metal music taster package that covers a whole range of areas that will have the listener finding something they can relate to and enjoy.

What was it like working on the EP?

It’s not an easy process for us, coming up with riffs and ideas is not the problem, its due to the fact we have 6 people from many different backgrounds giving input.
We like to take time to make sure that’s it’s our best and we always strive to push our own boundaries.

Are there any touring plans in to Evolve and Repair?

We want to tour the world with it and much more, but obviously that’s not entirely possible as a new band, we have played some shows over the eastern side of Australia to promote it, but we are planning on much more.

While we are on the subject of touring, what countries would you love to tour?

USA is a big one for us, we are gathering quite a following there, UK and central Europe we have a lot of people ing us asking for us to tour over there which is always nice of them.

Who and what inspires you the most?

Inspiration is vast for us, from everything starting at Michael Jackson all the way up to the extremes like Meshuggah and Infant annihilator.
This is what we love about this band, everybody in the band can bring something different to the table so it will never be samey at all.
Personally as the bass player, Periphery are currently inspiring me as Nolly Getgood has some good ideas and it complements the music perfectly.

What other genres of music do you listen to? Have any of the other genres you listen to had any impact on your playing?

As I said previously, its vast, from pop, hip hop to full blown grind core, it really helps create a good mesh of genres, if we all listened to the same music it would be boring.

I really appreciate you giving us your time today. Is there anything else you would like to tell us and the fans before we wrap things up?

Keep sharing our music with the world.
The more people hear it; the more chance we can visit your fine countries up close and personal.
Make it happen people!
