As ever, we’re going to try and cover every single Jäger, New Blood and SOPHIE stage band before Bloodstock kicks off on August 9th. Your chance to check them out and start planning which bands to get there early for!
Trust us when we tell you that this is bound to result in some frustrating clashes because, as ever, there are some great bands on these three stages.
Our thanks to all the bands for taking the time out to answer our questions!
Srd – Hobgoblin New Blood Stage, Sunday
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We come from Ljubljana, Slovenia.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
We started out mid-2016, therefore 2 years.
Where does the name of the band come from?
“Srd” means “wrath” and is considered as the primal force that put in motion the existence of the Abrahamic man. When God’s wrath had descended upon man and invested itself in each and everyone, it had become the dominant force of its existence. The pain that had befallen a man, being condemned to a vagabond life when abolished from Eden, now shapes the being of humanity. The drive that had caused the pain is never-ending, it manifests still, its forms are both known and still reshaping – we name this “drive” Srd.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Black’n’roll / black metal. This is a judgement for the viewer / listener.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
Our show is wrathful. People should watch whatever they want, we don’t force and we don’t please people to see us.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
We haven’t been before, this will be our first time.
Did you enter M2TM thinking you could win it?
We didn’t enter M2TM.
Which region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
We came to Bloodstock via exchange with Slovenian festival Metal Days.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
Diverse.
What are you working on at the moment?
This is yet to be seen in the near future.
Jäger, Hobgoblin Ale, Red Bull, Kingstone Press Cider, Kaltenberg Beer or Bulleit Bourbon? And, yes, we’ll be counting all the votes
Bulleit Bourbon.
