It’s that time of year again, when in the run-up to Bloodstock we endeavour to interview every band gracing the SOPHIE, New Blood and Jägermeister stages from 8th – 11th August 2019. This means you’ve got a chance to read up on all your favourite bands set to play over the weekend and decide which new ones you’ll want to check out.
As ever, we’re predicting some horrible clashes because, true to form, there are some great bands across all three stages so you should start
planning who you want to see.

Tomorrow is Lost – New Blood Stage, Friday
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Marc Rush (drums): Newcastle with a little bit of York.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
Cass King (vocals): a little over two years now – time is flying! We recently welcomed Josh Fodden to the band on bass and he’s doing a sick job!
Where does the name of the band come from?
MR: Not sure, think it was from a song lyric, but it was originally Tomorrow’s Lost…
CK: Yeah, we literally plucked a line from an old set of lyrics we had lying around…it was less than a day before our first gig and we still didn’t have a name so the pressure was on a little and Tomorrow’s Lost sounded pretty cool. Thankfully it seems to have worked out pretty good, but me and Joe had a number of fallouts about the apostrophe and I’m pleased we decided to ditch it!
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
MR: We draw from very diverse influences among ourselves, so there’s no pre-existing sound that we are all trying to get to. It definitely has elements of hard or classic rock but especially at the recording stage we like to mix it up and try to throw something new and different in there.
CK: Yeah, I think that sums it up pretty well but I definitely think we’re starting to challenge ourselves more and the results are top notch… it’s really exciting now.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
MR: Full of energy from the word go. Especially when we’re playing shorter sets; we don’t like to let off. We make sure every one of us is giving it their all and like to get the crowd involved and experiencing that as much as possible.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
CK: Never been. Gutted we aren’t going to be staying for the full weekend either. We’re actually in the studio so will be escaping into the light for a day to play Bloodstock. Can’t think of anything better!
Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
CK: Toon! Newcastle M2tM! It was such a wicked experience. So pleased we gave it a shot.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
MR: 10 words… “Well, thanks for telling me guys, finding out on Facebook”…Or maybe “What?!? We’re not heavy enough for Bloodstock!”
What sort of setlist can we expect?
MR: Heavy (for us) and to the point, we want to try and impress with time we’re given.
CK: Balls to the wall! New stuff, old stuff and whatever we can cram into 30 minutes – every second’s gonna count.
Which other bands do you most hope you’re not squished up next to so you can see them play?
CK: I would have loved to have seen Parkway Drive play their headline set, and I’d love to see Midnight Prophecy play the New Blood stage. We’ve played with the guys quite a few times since early on, so it’s good to see each other progress and move forward.
What are you working on at the moment?
CK: Big things! It’s no secret that we’re working on our debut album this year – though we haven’t released any specific details yet, but rest assured – it’s coming!
MR: We’re working on the final stages of pre-production before we head in to start recording early August.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
MR: I saw a man get stripped completely naked to a pop punk cover of “My Heart Will Go On”.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
MR: Obliged to say Cloven Hoof!
CK: Only in minuscule measures. Anyone who knows me will know that I can’t handle my drink! I’ll stick with water. All about that rock and roll life!
