It’s that time of year where we set out to interview as many of the Sophie, New Blood, and Jager bands as we can in the lead-up to one of the most anticipated festivals of the year, Bloodstock. Answering our questions here are Hellfekted who open the New Blood Stage on the Friday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are from the Midlands/Wales.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
We’ve been playing together as this perfect line-up for about just over a year, but Hellfekted itself has been going for nearly 3 years now.
Where does the name of the band come from?
Now I’m not going give you some bullshit answer! It was typically two dudes trying come up with a name and we just mashed two words together that sounded cool – which was Hellbound and Infekted and….BOOM! Hellfekted was made!
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Our music gives you that energy that you crave where you wanna just mosh around and have fun and get wankered, but also have that deep feeling of a connection to the lyrics, the riffs and that you can hear multiple styles going on at once. Our new music will reveal a lot more.

What’s your live show like?
Our lives shows have energy. We love to interact with the crowd and make them part of the show. We’re not fans of standing still – we love see sweat dripping off our guitars! We will make the younger metal fans feel like they are apart of something bigger and make the older metal fans feel like they are back in the 80’s.
Have you played Bloodstock before? If so, when?
Bloodstock was my first festival in 2017 and it was the best experience I ever had! To be able play there only 5 years later is like a dream come true!
How/when did you find out that you’d be playing the SOPHIE stage?
We were the runners up from the Stoke final, and Simon the legend asked us if we wanted to play!! So fucking insanely out of this world excited!
What sort of setlist can we expect?
You can expect some old ones and some new ones but a great one!!
Which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Testament and Exodus for sure, we would be so upset if we had to miss seeing them.
What are you working on at the moment?
We are currently working on album number 2, what is miles better than our first release.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
There is a lot of things we’ve seen but the wildest has to be where we were playing a show on the second floor and the whole room was going absolute bat shit crazy and you could feel the floor moving like it was about to collapse.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Jack Daniel’s for sure but anything that has alcohol works the same.
