Our regular run-down of as many of the Bloodstock bands as we can get to talk to us! Nameless play the New Blood stage on the Sunday…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are a Birmingham based collective.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
We have been playing as a band for the past 2 years.
Where does the name of the band come from?
We have deliberated on many names for the band over the years, constantly hitting that brick wall of cliché titles. Nameless, at its most fundamental level, is our name because we couldn’t think of one. However, there is a deeper meaning which stems from simulacra and simulation, Jean Baudrillard and his theories on social constructs, social conditioning, and the ideology that we are all numbers that help to turn the cogs of the machine we call “society and infrastructure”.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Our music is synonymously Nu-Metal, but our music takes you through Metalcore numbers to hardcore tunes and some 80’s new wave-inspired shoegaze tracks. We are a very eclectic bunch. We bring heavy, agitated, chunky riffs, deeply driven bass lines, technical drums, and an amalgamation of militant yet poetic rap, cleans, screams, and gutturals.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
Our shows are high-octane, energetic, and ionately bursting with militancy. We are also fun to watch. We love a close and intimate relationship with our audiences. We love interaction and participation. Our shows make people move! We sweat, we move, we play harder, and bring the crowd together in solidarity.

Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
We have never been to Bloodstock before, which is why we’re all so hyped!
Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
We won the Birmingham M2TM.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realized you were heading to
Bloodstock?
A feeling that we can’t put into words but humbling.
What sort of setlist can we expect? We have put together our heaviest setlist.
You can expect us to bring our best energetic set with some crowd-pleasers and one special song that will unify us all under that tent.
Which other bands do you most hope you’re not squished up next to so you can see them play?
On our day, Sunday, we definitely do not want to be missing out on Sepultura, Decapitated, or Helloween!
What are you working on at the moment?
We are working hard on our new EP behind the scenes. We are also planning some local and away tours to see us through to the end of the year.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
We have seen some blood spillage, but we assure you those people were happy and healthy afterwards. Aside from that kinda craziness, our boy Nick has made his cymbals fly off stage because he’s so damn hench!
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
We are all pretty health-conscious. Before we play it’s water and juice, but our boys Jordan and Nick like to shotgun a can of Monster to help fuel their stage performance.
