Our regular run-down of as many of the Bloodstock bands as we can get to talk to us! Past The Fall play the Jager stage on the Sunday…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We’re based out Cambridge UK.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
In earnest probably circa 2014.
Where does the name of the band come from?
It was from a brainstorm list, and it was the only one that didn’t suck! It reflects where we were coming from as well from our previous projects that had collapsed and was about getting up and getting past previous failures in life.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
I guess the TL:DR is melodeath/groove metal with flavours of grunge, thrash, and prog. I think we still vehemently believe in putting songwriting first and we don’t bolt together collections of riffs, soul comes first. We’re a three-piece that punches way above their weight, twin vocals tonal shift from light to dark, cleans to screams and there’s absolutely stellar lead playing throughout.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
We’re not big on theatrics or ‘I wanna see the biggest motherfucking circle pit’ clichés, we just let the music do the talking and we just feel the moment with it- nothings scripted. I’ve always been inspired with bands that interact authentically and that for us could mean being humble, being rowdy, whatever… as long as it’s real. Ultimately our live sound and songwriting is really unique and that lifts the weight.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
I have a few times! I used to go when I was a kid and it was a lot smaller, like 2006ish and then a few years later a couple times. Its great! It’s really heartening to see that it hasn’t lost that link to the fans and not sold out for growth or ticket sales like has a little bit in my opinion.
When/how did you find out you’d been selected to play at Bloodstock?
It was pretty simple to be honest- I just emailed them to ask if we could play and they said yes!

What sort of setlist can we expect?
We’re down for 40 mins, so we’re going to cram in all the bangers/raucous stuff from our debut album From Insanity’s Ruin.
Which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Good question! I think we’re safe with Megadeth, although we might be loading out around then, but probably Ugly Kid Joe, I seen them before and there so much fun!
What are you working on at the moment?
We’re recording new material, we’re into about 3 tracks so far and they’ll be out as singles pretty soon.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Uff there’s been a few that spring to mind- but probably having our show broken up by armed police in Mexico was pretty spicy!
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Just water for me! I had a drinking problem, so I’ve had to knock it on the head for my sanity! But in truth none of us drink before show (plenty of time for that after haha) our priority is on delivering the best performance possible for the fans- after all there the ones that pay the money and make what we do happen so they deserve the best!
