Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Swarms are from east Durham.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
We have been together since 2018.
Where does the name of the band come from?
The band name was a hint to a previous love of zombie films and it kinda stuck.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
The music is an interesting fusion of hardcore, slam, deathcore and nu metal. Real energetic heavy chugs.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
Our live shows are high energy fight music. We really enjoy performing and we usually have a lot of fun while we are onstage.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
Our guitarist Jordan is the only one of us who has been to Bloodstock before and he loves it there. Really excited to get there.

We won Metal 2 the Masses Newcastle.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
We were absolutely buzzing with the win. Unreal feeling.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
Our set list is going to contain a couple of classics, a new single that we are releasing shortly and some from our forthcoming EP Coal Dust.
Which other bands do you most hope you’re not squished up next to so you can see them play?
We were really hoping we didn’t clash with Biohazard, Knocked Loose and Killswitch Engage. Super happy we aren’t gonna miss them.
What are you working on at the moment?
At the moment we are working on our EP. We are hoping to release that before the end of 2023. Then we will start writing for the next one.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
We played a show in Bradford in 2019 and I stage dived and ran to the back of the room and my dumb ass pulled the mic wire out!
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
We usually drink non alcoholic punk IPAs or energy drinks before a show. But afterwards we party hard! You’ll see me with a whiskey in my hand!
