As I have said many times on my radio station, once you play death metal, it’s in your veins and you always come back to it. Thankfully this is once again true with Yorkshire bad men Blasphemer who came back after releasing a couple of albums under the moniker of Dominion ( them?). Although there were still elements of death metal in the band Dominion, they are a million miles away from what Blasphemer play and that is quite simply put: old school death metal.
Guitarist/vocalist Mass and guitarist Arno thought that the corpse of Blasphemer was put to rest too soon and that it was time to resurrect the dead and release new music. Having released two albums since their comeback in 2015, Blasphemer had not released any new material since Lust of the Goat in 2018. I therefore took the opportunity to ask Mass and Arno what the boys have been up to in this time, what touring plans they have in store and how their songs are constructed.
Oh, I almost forgot – they also liked to talk about their new EP Marked for Death which came out January 1st.
