Our regular run-down of as many of the Bloodstock bands as we can get to talk to us! Hellbearer play the New Blood stage on the Saturday…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We’re from the wonderful city of Manchester.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
We’ve been together for about 2 years but been gigging for over a year and a half.
Where does the name of the band come from?
It was a natural evolution of some names we’d been kicking around but we feel like it fits us and our lyrical content well.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We’d describe our music as very fast, intense and energetic. We have a very original sound that’s still thrash but we’re not trying to emulate our heroes, we kind of pay homage to them.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
Our live shows are known for being intense and having crazy mosh pits. We ed videos on our YouTube channel of our journey at M2TM and also sharing them on groups etc., so hopefully people will have seen them before and say “oh yeah, these guys are insane – let’s go check them out”.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
Three out of the four of us have been to Bloodstock over the years and we always love attending.

Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
We won the Manchester M2TM competition.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
It felt like we were in a dream.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
You can expect a heavy and energetic 30 minute set.
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
It ranges for all of us but the one band we hope not to clash with is Forbidden.
What are you working on at the moment?
We’re currently working on our second album which is going really well. We also have a single that’ll be coming out at the end of the month.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
The wildest thing we’ve seen at a gig probably has to be during our set in the M2TM Manchester final. There were two guys – one in a tutu and the other in a gas mask – dry humping onstage whilst we were playing.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
It’s usually whatever’s in arm’s reach for us.
