Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are Space Pistol from Milton Keynes!
How long have you been playing together as a band?
About three years. We were born out of Covid and madness and have stuck around since.
Where does the name of the band come from?
Space Pistol was picked out by Joe from a long list of mental band name ideas Dan had on his phone. Space Pistol could represent paraphernalia, stepping up as a person, or the TP-82 soviet combination gun. Take your pick and decide but it sounded good to say and seemed to match the chaos of the music regardless of what it represented at the time.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We describe ourselves as ADHD-infused grunge riffs with the right amount of heavy. Being unique is something we always strive for and we’re grateful that people are digging the music for that reason. We go up, we go down, we groove, we blast, and we enjoy the hell out of it!

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
We have a lot of fun. There is a lot of infectious ion and energy when we play. We’re easy to spot, we’ll be the ones jumping around in pink boilersuits singing about sharks.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
We’re Bloodstock virgins! So this is going to be a hell of a ride for our first time there! We can’t wait!
Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
Northants, baby! Big shout out to Skye and the team! It was such a great experience and all the bands were incredible!!!
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
We can do it in two! FUCKING UNREAL. The whole thing was awesome and we made some great friends in the team and the other bands competing.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
Something a bit different, we hope! Don’t get us wrong, we go heavy, but we’re not strictly metal either. You’ll get a lot of energy and some big tunes!
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Ash is dying to see The Vintage Caravan, so hopefully we’re not clashing with them. In an ideal world, we’re on early so we’re not clashing with anyone and we have the pick of the litter!
What are you working on at the moment?
We’ve just released our first full-length album, Leave With Everything. It came out on 28th June. So we’re on the promo train for that! We’re touring around the UK between now and September to promote the album.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
HA! We’ve had some gooduns! There’s been some good boob flashing. One time someone came on stage dressed as The Hitcher from Mighty Boosh and gave the crowd a double-D show, haha!
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Two words: FROG FUEL!
