Our regular run-down of as many of the Bloodstock bands as we can get to talk to us! Stone Soup play the New Blood stage on the Saturday…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Sunny Hampshire, UK.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
8 years.
Where does the name of the band come from?
Stone Soup is a well-known fable worldwide. Checkout our merch stand, we may have a copy left!
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Blues influenced heavy stoner rock! The harmonicas add a certain individual twist. To understand us you will just have to come see us.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
We try to have as much fun and enjoyment as we can on stage. Lots of movement, lots of rocking out, it’s totally infectious and we hope the audience feels like we do when we are playing.

Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
Chris, one of our guitarists has been a couple of times and he quite simply says it is the best festival going!
Which M2tM region did you win, or did you come through other channels?
We won the M2TM Oxford!
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Bloodstock?
Holy shit, we’re going to Bloodstock?
What sort of setlist can we expect?
Its heavy, punchy mixture of older and newer tracks.
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
We can’t name just one….. so it’s going to be Clutch, Greenlung, Unpeople, Igorr…… there’s too many to list as they are all just magical.
What are you working on at the moment?
We are working towards album number three, it’s going to be a banger!
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Paul did a back flip in front of the stage, then he did another because he wasn’t happy with the first attempt!
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
We are very different in our choices. For Paul and Russel it’s coffee, Boney prefers and JD and Coke, Jim will be glugging water and Chris may be found chugging back a beer.
