Road to Call of the Wild 2025: Paradise Sins

We’re closing in on Call of the Wild and we’re going to be back for a second year! So we’re getting to know as many of the bands set to play the Trailblazer Stage in 2025 that we can pin down. Paradise Sins play the Sunday.

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

Three Brummies and two Herefordians! We established ourselves in Birmingham so that’s where we call home.

How long have you been playing together as a band?

We formed in 2022 but the pistons were fully oiled by mid-2023. UK Ghost tribute, Popestars gave us a massive opportunity to open for them at Billesley Rock Club in Birmingham so we kinda just burst onto the scene without warning. That show propelled us in a way we could never have imagined and we’ll never forget the love we received after that first show. We’re now three years into what is non-stop madness – which we are totally cool with.

Where does the name of the band come from?

We’ve been asked this a few times and it honestly didn’t take long to conjure up. Paradise Sins has it all really. It has an edge to it, it certainly delivers our musical direction and it’s easy to chant! It was born from a very blurry conversation around a beer-filled pub table. We recall Dan clambering onto the table at the time and belting “Paradise Sins” – and that was that – decision made!

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

The Paradise Sins sound is a rip-roaring blend of sunset strip vibes and NWOBHM with a lot of modern twists. We try and bring something new to every song we write. We all have such a wide variety of influences and it shows. Ultimately, we’re here to melt faces and have a good time!

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?

We have a simple philosophy with our live shows – no matter how big or small the stage is, we bring the arena to you. Luis’ vocal is huge – iconic highs with soulful engagement, Dan and Conor’s unparalleled guitar chemistry has been formed from over a decade of working together and the Zack/Dav combo might be one of the most naturally talented rhythm sections in rock right now. A force to be a reckoned with and one that demands attention.

Have you been to Call of the Wild before? What did you think?

We’re all Call of the Wild virgins so 2025 will be our debut in all senses of the word. We’ve heard from bands and fans of the festival that it is one of the best weekends of the year. We’re staying the whole weekend and have no doubt it’ll be one of the best weekends of the year for all involved.

Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Call of the Wild?

Absolutely freakin’ stoked. Cannot wait to get on that stage!

What sort of setlist can we expect?

It’ll be bouncy, anthem-filled and super fun. We have a nice mixture of songs amongst our releases thus far but expect something that prioritises high energy and everyone can get involved – that’s what it’s all about!

Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?

Blimey. The line-up is absolutely stacked this year. Gotta go with Asomvel though!

What are you working on at the moment?

We’ve just finished our first-ever headline UK tour which was unbelievable and we’re stacking up shows throughout the summer. And we’re delighted to reveal to Moshville Times that we will be releasing a new single in August with a wicked cool video to go with. So we’re busy putting all of that together – it’s a stunner and we’re ridiculously excited to get it out there!

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

Our second-ever show we played about 700 people at The Robin in Bilston – which was wild enough for a second show. Zack decides to throw one of those Freddo chocolate bars out into the audience during our walk-on. The Freddo bar flies into the lighting rig and throughout the set melted onto the front row. Safe to say Freddos are now banned from the hand of our beloved Zacko.

What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?

We have our own cocktail. It was born at 5am one night when we’d smashed through everything else and threw what we had left into a punch bowl. Its 2 parts rum, 1 part alchoholic ginger beer with a splash of lime and mint plus a little bit of cherry. We call it a Beautiful Disaster. It’s honestly refreshing as hell.
