We’re closing in on Call of the Wild and we’re going to be back for a second year! So we’re getting to know as many of the bands set to play the Trailblazer Stage in 2025 that we can pin down. Stone Cold Sweethearts play the Sunday.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are all from Lincoln (more specifically a small town called Sleaford). Lincolnshire is a county that isn’t massively in the public eye so we want to try and play our part in putting the Lincoln music scene on the map!
How long have you been playing together as a band?
Sam and Aidan rehearsing as a two-piece in 2022. Then after I (Joe) learned guitar in lockdown I ed the guys and SCS was fully formed in 2023.
Where does the name of the band come from?
There isn’t really an origin or reason for the name. Obviously it takes some inspiration from Stone Cold Steve Austin. But it’s just one of those random choices that has no meaning.

Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Our song have that familiar Britpop tone with a twist and a bit more balls! With no front man, two vocalists (Aidan and Joe) blend harsh almost rap like vocals with rhythmic singing.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
No messing about just pure anthems. We like to think we can steal the stage at any show we play!
Have you been to Call of the Wild before? What did you think?
Aidan has attended the festival before and think it’s such a strong move for Lincoln’s music scene. Alongside some strong grassroots venues opening around the city.
Can you put into 10 words or fewer how it felt when you realised you were heading to Call of the Wild?
Proud to be representing the area. Buzzing!
What sort of setlist can we expect?
A setlist full of energy. Refreshing new music. Music that sticks in your head
Stage times haven’t been announced yet, so which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Royal Republic is gonna be a great show, so would love to see those guys! Also, Mint are another Lincolnshire band that have been making waves recently!
What are you working on at the moment?
After recently releasing “Strange Lands” and getting onto Radio X and BBC Introducing. We’ve been in the studio in St Helens for our next single which we’re hoping can do even better than the previous!
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
When we ed The Darts(US) they go absolutely wild, with the singer bounding between standing on stage and the crowd. An absolutely wild crowd is made as a result of the energy they brought.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
A bottle of Buckie! Only the finest for the finest band!
