Road to Hella Rock 2025: Eddie and the Wolves

We’ve been lucky enough to be asked back to sponsor Hella Rock Festival in Coventry for its second year! Once again, we’re getting to know the bands on the bill in the run up to the big day. Having recently caught Eddie and the Wolves ing AK and the Red Kites, we know we’re in for one hell of a set with this lot!

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

Derby, more specifically Castle Donington, the home of rock!

How long have you been playing together as a band?

The band started as a three piece back in 2018, but it’s evolved into a full wolf pack, we’ve been playing with this line up for the last 2 years!

Where does the name of the band come from?

The band started as a bit of a solo project, but I didn’t just want it to be my full name, so it’s a wolf-pack lead by myself!

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

We call it “future blues” — think blues rock grit, Zeppelin-sized riffs, and 80s synths that feel like a neon uppercut. fronted by a husband-and-wife duo with Nicks and Buckingham vibes and big arena dreams.

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you rather than hanging at the bar or grabbing some merch?

Our live show is completely different to our records; they’re the same songs, but there are instrumentals that weave a story, we’re constantly working and refining. The bar will still be there after we’ve played.

Were you at Hella Rock last year? What have you heard about it?

Joe (bassist) reached out to James, he has his ear to the ground about all the rock goings on, big and small. And we have a dream to be a part of it all.

What sort of setlist can we expect?

We’ve got two albums and a few singles out, so there’s plenty of repertoire to choose from, but we like to pick our favourites to play as well as the “hits”.

Which other band on the bill are you most looking forward to catching?

There isn’t a band on that bill I personally don’t want to see. I’ll be there all day in full spirit with the rest of the pack. Char is looking forward to seeing Fury, she’s seen them a few times and that’s a favourite if you asked her! Also Tattoo Molly we’ve seen a few times and we always say to them afterwards “You guys just seem to get better every time we see you!”

What are you working on at the moment?

A live EP we recorded in December at The Hairy Dog, Derby, and we’re in full swing writing for album number three. We’re about 80% there with the writing phase.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

We often will just walk out into the crowd. In the heat of the moment I’ve jumped off the stage a few times, and once I jumped straight into a spilt beer and ended up finishing the guitar solo laying on the floor with everyone. The show must go on!

What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?

We all have a different poison, just depends who is driving the van. We’re not fussy. as long as it’s cold and age restricted.
