Nick Augusto has stated on Twitter that it wasn’t his choice to leave Trivium.
Nick was Travis Smith‘s drum tech up until 2010 when he was “promoted” to replace Smith who was fired from the band. In a twist of fate, perhaps, Nick is being replaced by Mat Madiro – his drum tech.
Whether this is permanent or not isn’t confirmed, but Madiro will be perched on the thumpy stool at least until the end of the current run of tour dates.
Thank you so much to all the fans, throughout the years. This was not my decision but eternally grateful pic.twitter.com/FxyBnhm6AE

From the band’s side of things, bassist Paolo Gregoletto said:
“I believe we all agreed that what started out great off stage in the beginning, over time, began to fray. It became obvious that things were not going to work out in the long run.
“There was not a dramatic ending to this. Honestly, it was quite muted – and I am happy to have been able to speak directly and calmly to one another.”
