Black Moth release new single, announce London date / April tour with Amplifier

Black Moth - Condemned to Hope“Looner” is the second track to be lifted from Black Moth’s universally acclaimed second album, Condemned To Hope. It displays the heady fusion of big riffs, hard rock hooks and provocative vocals that sets Black Moth apart from many of their contemporaries.

“Looner” is a brooding, burning drag race down the grunge highway. A dark and sexually surreal tale of balloon fetishists, weirdness and strange goings on, all locked within a thick guitar fueled circus of proto-metal darkness with the vulpine Harriet Bevan as mistress of ceremonies, offering more than a tip of the old pointed hat to L7 and PJ Harvey.

All this was enough to seduce infamous director Ben Foley (director of Turbowolf’s unforgettable “Solid Gold” video) into working with Black Moth, on the promise that they together they would make something truly seedy and unsettling. A heads up: this little slice of filth will have NSFW written all over it, as the viewer (voyeur) is invited to take a peep into the glistening world of Kitchen Kink Drama.

Black Moth rose from the Leeds underground scene, taking their trash culture fixations and their love for Stooges squalor and Sabbath sulphur to create an onslaught of monumental riff sorcery and serpentine grace.

With Bevan’s biting and beguiling voice leading the charge, the Moths effortlessly transcend their influences to arrive at a nefarious and turbulent brew. Equal parts horror movie atmosphere, thunderous drive and maverick spark.

Nowhere more in evidence than on their much praised second album Condemned To Hope.

Produced like their first (The Killing Jar) by Grinderman and Bad Seed Jim Sclavunos, it continues to turn heads and blast ears since its release in September 2014.

Watch out for the special limited edition (200 only) flexi disc release of “Looner” complete with free and a signed print created by Harriet, and catch the band on tour with the mighty Amplifier in April.
