Just slipping this one out at the end of the release date, but fans of the heavier side of prog should have a listen to Fraktions’ new single. Following on from their earlier EP, Fraktions plan to release a total of four singles over the coming months.
Their style includes metal guitars, jazz harmony, keyboard layers and varied vocals. The singing varies from angry post-metal to a plaintive style more reminiscent of The Smiths. The lyrics themselves seem designed to make you think – indeed the theme is quite an “eco” one, based on the idea of the Sun communicating with the Earth.
