Yorkshire post-hardcore metal, outfit, Story, have released their Debut EP, The Divide, which can be purchased from iTunes.
Choosing to go down the DIY route, allowing them to demonstrate their full potential as a band, and giving them creative control, Story have created a 5-track EP focusing directly on how Divide is a subject that effects a lot of people either from them dividing themselves from others or from themselves. Each song on the EP features a resemblance of division whether it is love, hate, or any other feeling the listener may interpret for themselves. Driven by strong vocals from front-man Bill Hobson, and the bands melodic sound, and post-hardcore and metal tones, you can straight away notice the heart felt lyrics that are spoken throughout the record.
Track Listing:
- Father Forgotten
- Open Your Mind
- Don’t Get Me Wrong
- Serenity
- Wreck
Story released their debut single, “Father Forgotten” from the EP, on Thursday 19th February. Watch the official music video for the single below. “Father Forgotten” is a powerful song about isolation, not only from others but from themselves, with the encouragement for young people to believe that, “this is not forever”, both through the lyrics and the track title, using the word, Father, as a metaphor for a person who have inflicted pain on them, creating this emotional state.
