Shocking news from the Mage camp this afternoon. Their guitarist, Ben Aucott, ed away yesterday – after a week which included his 40th birthday and a month in which he was married.
The band recently had to postpone some live shows as a result of stag night escapades that resulted in Ben fracturing his ankle and foot. The resultant pinning of bones making him even more metal than he was to begin with!
Ben leaves a wife, daughter and many other family , friends and fans who I’m sure will him in the fondest ways.
The statement from the band’s facebook page reads:
Some sad news from Mage.
Yesterday our friend, brother and guitarist Ben Aucott sadly ed away.
As some of you know Ben got married last Saturday and leaves behind a wife and daughter… and many very sad friends.
We are heartbroken beyond words.
