Andrew W.K. has just launched his own political party, The Party Party.
Earlier this evening, the ‘Party Hard’ and ‘She Is Beautiful’ singer’s usual ‘Party Tip’ social media posts took an unusually political tone. Mr W.K. invited presidential hopefuls Donald Trump, Hilary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich to consider “”Right vs left” “red vs blue” is an illusion meant to inflame our emotions and divide us. See through the ploy. There is only us.”, before posting: “PARTY TIP: Be Your Own President”.
Within the last hour, Mr W.K. has decked out his social media channels in his party’s livery, with Facebook cover reading “It’s time for a new political party, where we remove the politics and just have the party.”
In this time he has also launched The Party Party’s official website, outlining his campaign’s aims. These are remarkably sensible, and essentially boil down to a desire “To free the American people from the dysfunction that is our two party system. […] Most people have become too caught up in the bickering of our news cycles to realize that we ultimately desire the exact same things: reliable access to education, healthcare, and a sense of social equality.”
