MC Lars has hit our shores on a couple of occasions. Most recently he did between-set entertainment for Bowling For Soup and before that he was a superb opening act for Suburban Legends. A genuinely funny, nerdy rapper he fits in well with a lighthearted rock act and yet it seems he has a serious side.
In a bid to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, he’s put what looks like his entire back catalogue (or damn near to it) on a site called Groupees… for any donation of $1 upwards. That’s not $1 a track… that’s for the entire flipping lot.
Given that each album has upwards of ten tracks, some many more, this is a great gesture.Of course, you should give more if you can. 20% of each purchase goes to the charity so be generous. Plus, there are two targets at $2000 and $4000 where all donors will get a little extra.
