Album News: Excellion, Monolord, Todd Rundgren, Veonity

Another bunch for you today including a full EP stream or two…

Excellion

Excellion’s new EP was released yesterday and if you want to sample the whole thing then just click “play” below. Unsean is their fourth release, and originally meant to be a full album. The band decided to opt for two smaller releases instead. Bassist and backing vocalist Adrian Vilbel commented:

On Unsean you can find this maturity in the sound that is very unique actually, all instruments converge in a way that it just wasn’t in our previous releases, that’s why this new material it’s really a breakthrough for us. We were trying to express ourselves in the way we felt at the moment when we moved to Mexico City, it was a moment to adapt and learn a new way to live, so we felt the urgency to write some riffs and melodies that made people feel those expressions, that’s how the whole concept came to mind.

Monolord

Monolord have just kicked off a US tour, but for those of us on this side of the Pond we can have a listen to their new EP that the band have popped up on Soundcloud. They’re sludgey, they’re doomy and they’re from Sweden.

Veonity

Veonity - Into the VoidThe Swedish power metal band Veonity releases their second studio album on September 23rd. The album, called Into The Void, was produced Ronny Milianowicz (Shadowquest, ex Dionysus) at Studio Seven and mastered at Jens Bogren’s Studio, Fascination Street Recording Studios in Цrebro, Sweden. The idea was to create a genuine and powerful sound that would bring out the best of Veonity’s energetic, glorious and guitar driven power metal.

Into The Void is a concept album best described as a dystopic, futuristic space saga about the earth, dying due to mankind’s greed and a lonely man who escapes into space.
