I’m one of those people who genuinely think that Metallica haven’t released anything worth listening to in twenty years. OK, so some songs have been able but on the whole… meh.
That could be about to change based on the song “Hardwired” that the band just put up on YouTube. It’s edgy and thrashy, though drops into the “let’s swear a lot to sound grown-up” trap. I’ll give it a few more listens before I make up my mind. Scroll down to listen.
