So much news coming through that we just had to throw together a quick update to on at least some of it!

Falling in Reverse

Falling in Reverse have announced April 7, 2017 as the release date for their fourth album Coming Home (Epitaph). The band has also shared the track listing, album artwork, and the new song “Loser” (below).

The follow-up to 2015’s Just Like You, Coming Home finds the band exploring its sound, all the while retaining the signature ethos and aesthetic that has won the love and loyalty of its incredibly invested fans and followers. Frontman Ronnie Radke previously told Alternative Press that the album is:

…a huge left turn. It sounds like nothing we’ve ever done. Every song is very vibey. There’s more feeling in it. We’re challenging ourselves now more than we ever have in the weirdest ways possible, because you would think writing the craziest solo or riffs would be the challenging part. But the challenging part is trying to stick to a theme and not go all over the place like we would normally do.

Fit For An Autopsy

New Jersey metal act Fit For An Autopsy will release new album The Great Collapse on 17 March via Longbranch / SPV.

“The Great Collapse is a reflection on the current chaotic state of mankind’s relationship with the world, and it’s effect both outward and inward,” says guitarist and producer Will Putney. “It’s a dark and unsettling record that encapsulates a variety of approaches to aggressive music, and a definite expansion of our capabilities as a band.”

The Great Collapse will be the the band’s fourth full-length record, continuing the momentum gained from a solid 200+ days of worldwide touring backing the highly acclaimed release of Absolute Hope Absolute Hell in late 2015, as well The Depression Sessions, a split release with The Acacia Strain and Thy Art Is Murder in 2016 (reviewed by Sheggs). “It’s going to be the strongest record in our catalog. The overall mood and atmosphere of this album feels fully realized and emotionally stirring.”

The band have also released the artwork, created by Adam Burke.

Kreator

exclusive intervew snippet we released earlier this week, Kreator have just released an official teaser for the music video for the song “Totalitarian Terror”. This video concludes the Gods Of Violence video trilogy which mainmain Mille Petrozza talks about in another interview.

Gods Of Violence will be released on January 27 via Nuclear Blast Records and will be available in various formats. Maxïmo Park

Alternative pop experts Maxïmo Park today announce the forthcoming release of their sixth studio album, Risk To Exist, available on Daylighting/Cooking Vinyl from April 21st.

Risk To Exist sees Maxïmo Park on blistering form, bringing together their trademark hook-laden melodies and sense of urgency with off-kilter rock, soulful grooves and pop sensibilities. Informed by the dire state of world affairs in 2016 and crumbling political systems, their latest body of work is a vital record for our times.

Kinetic title track and lead single “Risk To Exist” is a barbed introduction to the album, three and a half minutes of indie punk perfection crafted around rolling snare drums, a towering chorus and a central plea for humanity and solicitude. Inspired by the West’s response to the migrant crisis, the sneering, superior attitude of well-bred Tories, and the small, but meaningful gestures of love that reaffirm what is good in this world, it is a cry for comion, and simply frames the precariousness of life in its refrain – “Throw your arms around me, I’ve come too far and the ocean’s deep”.

Frontman Paul Smith says:

The album is, ultimately, about empathy. Some songs are simple messages of solidarity and others are fuelled by anger at the elitist, established order of British society. There’s a questioning of power throughout and a feeling that there must be a different way of structuring our society in order to alleviate inequality. Musically, the songs reflect more soulful and groove-based influences, allowing more space in the arrangements than ever before. The central idea is to align great pop melodies with songs that reflect the state of the nation.
