“Rammstein: Paris” DVD & cinema screenings

German industrial metal giants Rammstein have released two trailers for their latest live DVD Rammstein: Paris.

The footage was recorded in Paris in 2012 during the band’s Made In tour and the film has been directed by Jonas Åkerlund – the man behind the music videos for “Mein Land”, “Ich Tu Dir Weh”, “Mann Gegen Mann” and “Pussy”. The teaser trailers feature all the trademarks of a Rammstein live show; flames, explosions, elaborate stage props and of course Till Lindemann riding a huge penis-shaped foam cannon.

A website has been set up specifically for the release where you can find the trailers, a synopsis of the film, and links to buy tickets to a limited number of screenings taking place in cinemas worldwide on 23 March. At the time of writing links to buy tickets were “coming soon” so keep checking back.

According to the website, “Rammstein: Paris sets a new standard for concert films […] a masterpiece of music cinema that captures the energy of Rammstein in a unique visual and sonic experience “. Rammstein released their last live concert DVD – In Amerika – back in September 2015, documenting their spectacular sold out show show at Madison Square Garden, New York in 2010. The In Amerika DVD also includes two documentaries; one about the band’s history with the United States, and the other documents the making of the band’s 2009 album Liebe ist für alle da. The band have also previously released two other concert DVDs; Live Aus Berlin in 1999 and Völkerball in 2006.

Rammstein are set to perform at a selection of festivals this summer, although nothing has yet been announced for the UK. Rumour has it that the band are working on a new album but there has not been any official announcement on this yet.
