Heading out to the sold out Anthrax / Raven Age show on Wednesday? Well, a couple of extra pieces of news for you.
First up, the show’s being recorded for an DVD release so make sure you’re dressed to the nines and ready to make it something special! We weren’t supposed to tell you (the setup and preamble has cost us our interview slot with the band as they won’t have time to do both), but seeing as Scott Ian has now announced it, we reckon we won’t get in too much trouble from the lovely people at Nuclear Blast. I think a review of the DVD when it’s ready before anyone else gets hold of it would be a fair swap…
Scott happened to mention the recording when he was also revealing that he’ll be wandering down the road to The Cathouse after the show to do a special DJ set! This was at his own request as well, not that of the venue who have obviously taken him up on his offer. Speaking to Glasgow Live, Ian said:
I reached out to my friend Donald MacLeod at the Cathouse about it. I love that venue and some of my friends have DJ’d there before, like Jesse Leach who’s the singer with Killswitch Engage. He did a thing around New Year’s Eve and had a great time.
I just thought it would be a cool thing to do and a lot of people will probably be heading there right after our show at the Barras anyway, so why not go there ourselves and keep the party going? What am I going to play? I think it’s kinda obvious. It’s not going to be Britpop, put it that way!
If you’re heading to one of the shows in the UK or Europe, don’t forget that you can also help shape the setlist.
