Tengger Cavalry sign to Napalm Records
Hailing from New York city, with their exotic mix of throat singing, the Mongolian fiddle and Central Asian instruments, Tengger Cavalry have signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records. We featured them as a Band of the Day all the way back in 2014!
Says the band about their recent g with Napalm Records:
We have always been huge fans of Napalm Records. Growing up listening to lots of the bands that g to the label, we are just so inspired by the musical ideas of the label of how progressive and heavy the sound it presents. And now we are honored to be part of the Napalm Records family and can’t wait to share our nomadic folk sound to the new community!
Set for an album release in early 2018 but to shorten your wait, Tengger Cavalry have now released a first lyric video to the single “Ritual And Redemption”, taken from the band’s album on Napalm Records.
King Witch ink deal with Listenable
Formed in early 2015 in a dark cavern beneath the streets of old Edinburgh, a lead-heavy brew of old school Metal and the meatiest of 70’s classic rock emerges in the form of King Witch.
Drawing comparisons ranging from Black Sabbath and Candlemass to Mastodon and High On Fire, the band’s debut EP, Shoulders of Giants quickly earned them a fanbase and saw them touring the UK and Ireland as well as playing festivals in Europe including the prestigious Sweden Rock Fest. The powerhouse vocals of Laura Donnelly give King Witch an unmistakable sound, while Jamie Gilchrist (guitars), Joe Turner (bass) and Lyle Brown (drums) provide a rock-solid and experienced backbone.
The band’s debut album, Under The Mountain, will be out via Listenable Records scheduled for a February’s end release. It is a record packed with slab-heavy riffs and Joplin-esque vocals that should see the band securing their place in the heavy music scene.
Aephanemer: new single available for streaming/
French melodic death metallers Aephanemer have made their new single, “Path of the Wolf”, available for streaming. “Path of the Wolf” was mixed by Dan Swanö at Unisound AB and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios.
The quartet broke into the metal scene with their debut EP Know Thyself in 2014, followed by their full-length Memento Mori in 2016.
Integrating musical elements from scandinavian melodic death metal, Slavic traditional music and classical symphonies, Aephanemer brought some freshness to the modern metal scene and generated significant expectation from their newly formed and quickly growing fanbase.
