Album News: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Twilight’s Embrace, WUZI, The Dodges, Öblivïon

A last little roundup to round off Sunday evening…

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

BRMC have already treated fans to four instant grat tracks from forthcoming album Wrong Creatures; first single “Little Thing Gone Wild”  a dirty, sexy, rollicking ride of big licks and heavy bass – which was the inspiration for the LP’s title, drawing on a lyrical age. “Lord you hear me loud into my soul speaker, why won’t you let me out, you’ve got the wrong creature’.  Next up came the Cave-esque murder balladry of “Haunt” followed by “Question of Faith” and “King Of Bones“.

Now you can check out “Echo” as well, and the whole album is released on January 12th.

Twilight’s Embrace

Nottingham, UK doom trio Twilight’s Embrace have emerged from the darkness to reveal details for their new record, and follow up to 2014’s acclaimed debut By Darkness Undone. Band leader and guitarist Ben Sizer:

After a couple of years that saw some leaving and little in the way of live performances, we decided an EP was a good way to ease back into things and to let people know we’re still alive. Musically, the new tracks deliberately continue the path of previous releases, attempting to take classic doom-death recipes and add other influences to taste.

Entitled Penance, the self-produced EP is set for release on 23rd February and spans four epic death doom soundscapes, reminiscent of genre pioneers including Katatonia, November’s Doom, Agalloch, Insomnium, Primordial, and more. There is also a not so subtle hint towards Paradise Lost, with a cover of “It’s Too Late” from 1999’s Host.

Penance will be available on CD and on all major and streaming platforms and is available to pre-order on Bandcamp.

WUZI

Leeds-based WUZI are releasing their second EP Bozo Material on Friday 2nd February, and showcasing it at 360 Club in Leeds as part of Independent Venue Week. Definitely one to . It will be their first show of the year and the first wave of new releases they’re bringing out over the next few months.
