Lovely for your ears, heavy on your bank balance. Such is the downside of so much great music coming out these days…
Carpathian Forest
Kerri encountered this black metal combo when they played Inferno Festival recently (reviews up over the next few days). Well, now they’re back with a new EP – their first release in a decade!
Carpathian Forest rises up from under the pile of flesh and raises their necrotic bone axe of black metal yet again – this time after a 10-year hiatus – they release an EP consisting of two tracks. One of which is a cover track of Turbonegro (“All My Friends are Dead”) and an original track titled “Likeim” (corpse stench). Two brutal and brutally honest songs that truly represent what is and has always been one of the worlds most necro black metal bands. Infused with black thrash and old school black metal, the two tracks spear the very core of your 90’s black metal nostalgia. Carpathian Forest is the groovy mid-tempo black metal, with the chillingly nihilistic and in your face vocals that sticks to your membrane.
Likeim is out on April 13th

Here Lies Man

Here Lies Man took the music world by storm in 2017 with their self-titled debut positing the intriguing hypothesis: What if Black Sabbath played Afrobeat?
Murderhouse
Brighton indie punk-pop newcomers Murderhouse are happy to announce their latest EP will be released 1st June 2018 through Circle House Records (pre-orders available now). To celebrate the news, Murderhouse are streaming a brand-new track titled “HMV Tweets” which is taken from the forthcoming self-titled EP.
The band has also revealed a short run of UK dates with Venn Records indie-punk band WACO (details below). Explaining the meaning behind “HMV Tweets”‘, vocalist/guitarist, James Hunt said:
I wrote the lyrics start to finish on my phone whilst pacing around my old place of work – a HMV record store in the process of closing down. The song is about the awkward early moments after you reach out for help for your mental health and the battle it can be to stay positive. When I wrote this song I was 100% confident that I would never get to a happy place again but I now know I was wrong.
