More up and coming release news from bands big and small…
Coheed and Cambria
Coheed and Cambria have announced details of their long awaited new album and Roadrunner Records label debut, The Unheavenly Creatures. The sprawling fifteen track, self-produced, 78-minute epic finds Coheed and Cambria returning to the conceptual narrative of The Amory Wars. The band has launched pre-orders for the album’s deeply immersive Vaxis – Act 1: The Unheavenly Creatures Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set. Pre-orders for The Unheavenly Creatures standard album will begin Friday, June 29, with new music from the forthcoming LP arriving next week.
Set for release on October 5th, the box set includes an exclusive eighty-plus page hardcover illustrated sci-fi novel with strikingly realistic colour imagery by Chase Stone, as well as the complete Act 1 novella written by frontman Claudio Sanchez and his wife, Chondra Echert. The set also houses a fully-wearable hard-plastic mask of the main character in The Unheavenly Creatures, a CD copy of the album, as well as the exclusive bonus album, The Crown Heights Demos, showing the songs in their original written form.
Additional items include a 3- fold out poster of expanded album cover art, and the Unheavenly Creatures Black Card which will allow all card holders early access to tickets and early entry to Coheed and Cambria headline dates (including this summer’s tour).
Wilson
The wait is over! Three years since their previous full-length release, Wilson return with a new album of original material.
Tasty Nasty is scheduled for worldwide release on 24 August via Red Music. Produced by the band alongside Scott “The Ninja” Stevens, Tasty Nasty is currently available for pre-order here.
The band comprised of Chad Nicefield (vocals), Jason Spencer (lead guitars), Kyle Landry (rhythm guitars), James Lascu (bass) and Matt Puhy (drums) is back with an album of eleven new tracks that showcase the band’s latest musical direction that was built from their love for the 90’s and hip-hop.
“I just kind of realized who we are as people and our DNA was that of a bunch of lovable, silly dudes, that love to make music,” says Nicefield. “That needs to be transparent in our music.”
From the infectious chant of album opener “Dumptruck” to the reflective introspection of closer “Everyone Gets A Round On Me”, it is apparent that Wilson has not lost their ability to tell a great story. Songs like “My Hustle”, “Summertime Treat (Tasty Nasty)” and “Fuck Up My High” all showcase the diverse musical styles Wilson incorporates in to their latest album. The debut single “Like A Baller” is sure to become an instant classic among the devoted faithful.
Abandoned By Bears
For a band that’s been together since 2012, Abandoned By Bears is just hitting their prime with “Headstorm”, their spirited new single out yesterday. The track comes from their sophomore album, Headstorm, set for release on August 24, 2018.
Fronted by the dual vocal combo of Leon Ekelund and Fredric Andersson, Abandoned By Bears is rounded out by guitarist Jacob Devinder and Max Fahlman on drums. They returned in 2017 for another taste of America before closing out the year with their first ever tour of the UK. Due to overwhelming demand, the UK will receive the first taste of Headstorm as the Swede’s invade Europe starting July 1st. The dates roll out as follows:

Kliodna
Kliodna is a 5 member melodic-symphonic metal band from Minsk, Belarus. They’ve just re-released their album The Dark Side of The Stories, and it’s available on all major digital platforms now.
Like most bands, Kliodna has made some line-up changes, notably the departure of lead singer Helena Wild in the summer of 2016 due to health concerns. But she was quickly replaced by the outstanding operatic soloist Natalia Senko who has helped the band carry on with a smooth transition. Kliodna has ranked number 1 on Reverbnation’s Metal Charts for their country of Belarus for many months now.
