Kerrang! Awards 2018 announce nominations

Marking Kerrang!’s 37th birthday, the Kerrang! Awards are set to return this year, descending on Islington Town Hall on the 21st of June. The nominations have now been revealed, pitting bands from all corners of metal, punk and rock against one another to find the crème de la crème of heavy in 2018.

The rules are simple: 40 nominations and 8 categories. That’s 5 bands going head-to-head in each category, so choose wisely. Check out the full list of nominations and categories below and get voting here.

Kerrang! Magazine Editor and head honcho Sam Coare says:

The two categories that recognise emerging artists are packed full of remarkable talent. They reflect a new wave of rock music that is exciting, real and vital. It’s not a ‘scene’ per se, because these acts are all very different from each other and set their own agendas, but they are all a reaction to the disposable nature of mainstream music right now.

In addition to the voted categories, several “merit awards” will be distributed on the night, alongside the Kerrang! Legend Award. Another inductee will also enter the Kerrang! Hall Of Fame for their long-standing contribution to our world and their creative career-defining achievements.
