Less than one month after the Ragnard Reborn Festival paying tribute to the late Ragnard Rock Festival in , the Ukrainians in Kharkiv aren’t done with festivals at all and are starting their own brand: Metal East Nove Kolo.
At the outset, it looks like many traits from the previous festival were kept such as the designs, the logo and the venue, to my greatest pleasure. For the record, the festival took place at the Art-Zavod Mechanika. It used to be a tank then locomotive factory and many steampunk features were kept as well as the immensity of the location.
Although the name changing to something appearing as mainstream kind of left me puzzled, the first announcement cleared all doubts when it comes to the programme’s direction. The fact it all takes place in Kharkiv is not random and if it helped a lot with national bands for the Ragnard Reborn, it is definitely a determining factor for the first headliner…
And it is none other than the mighty Hate Forest! They split up 14 years ago but they will rise from their ashes on this very special occasion and the band’s fee for the show will be donated to a foundation dedicated to children with cancer.
