This post may seem a little off-topic, but bear with me. John Challis is most famous for playing the wheeler-dealer Boycie in UK classic comedy Only Fools and Horses. However, it turns out he was also a rock fan and shared many tweets with the likes of Ice-T. It’s always brightens you up when you hear that someone “unexpected” likes the same music you do.
Only Fools And Horses crops up constantly when people discuss classic British comedy, and it’s aged well (on the whole) for so many reasons. Challis’s smarmy take on car dealer Boycie was very much part of it. Yeah, I know he did other things as well but that’s who I will always picture him portraying!
As always, our thoughts go out to John’s family, friends and those who worked with him. And as with every musician we pay tribute to, we’ll leave you with a little bit of footage of one of the many, many moments we’ll him for.
