Schemata Theory link with Beat Saber VR game

It’s always nice to be original, and Schemata Theory have managed to tick that box by creating their own maps for VR title Beat Saber. The maps are based on recent single “New Vision” which you can check out below.

For those not familiar with the game, it’s kind of like Fruit Ninja meets Guitar Hero and played using a VR headset. So you can look like a Jedi warrior (in your own mind), or a randomly swiping lunatic (in everyone else’s) as you hack and slash at various virtual items to the heady beats of Schemata Theory.

Twitch streamers all over the world have been playing it. Check out this one – the reaction when the streamer realises Myles is in the live chat is amazing! The band intends to make a new music video for the song using the highlights from the playthroughs, and the level is available to play via the band’s website. As you can see, loads of people have been playing it already. The founder of Beat Saber and its developers are aware of this project, and the band is hoping that they will be added to the game officially.

Myles explains the project himself in this short YouTube video.

The song itself is all about bouncing back from adversity, and was inspired by vocalist Myles Dyer’s own experience of recovering from a head injury in 2014. On a semi-serious note, please take care when playing the game that you do so somewhere that you’re not going to trip or bash into things while you’ve got the goggles on!

In the meantime, consider g up to our Patreon or making a donation so we can afford a headset of our own. For review purposes, obviously! :)

If you prefer your gaming to be a bit more profitable, then it could be worth making sure you’re au fait with factors to take into before gambling in the UK.
