Lead singer Wanderson Barreto was recently hard at work in São Paulo’s Dharma Studios alongside legendary Korzus drummer finishing up all of the recordings for Rygel’s awaited debut, Chronicles, which was released this last friday (31).
The album brings together remarkable moments in the band’s trajectory, including the challenging period of the pandemic. As Wanderson explains, the album portrays different phases of the band: “After releasing several singles, we decided to compile them into an album. The name Chronicles was chosen precisely to represent this age through different periods of our history. When recording ‘Nothing More’, all the way back in 2020, I leaving the studio and, days later, on my birthday, I was in the hospital with Covid. So, the album records different phases of the band, from the pandemic up to today,” he concludes.
In this album, the four-piece ventures into new ways of making music, with new tones, demonstrating the natural maturity of the group that drives them to explore new horizons. Two tracks on this album are in A tuning, a tone and a half lower than what they used to use. This album can be considered a transitional album, presenting a more modern sound.
