Looks like it’s “Les-Fest Wildfire” next year, and then just “Wildfire” from then on as Scotlands biggest and best metal festival shrugs off the cheap jokes…
First up, bands confirmed for next year already are (and hold onto your hats):
- Tygers of Pan Tang
- Lawnmower Deth (so that’s it – I’m buying a day ticket at least)
- Press to Meco
- Ronin
- The Idol Dead
- Tysondog
- Lord Volture
- Line of Fire
- Holocaust
- The Mercy House
- Silverjet
- Kaine
And now the statement from Dave, organiser par-excellence:
“With more stages, more bands and even a shuttle bus from Lanark train station, the temperature is certainly rising. Les-Fest 4 is back and the rumours have been spreading like Wildfire. Already established with a formidable reputation, Scotland’s premier rock and metal festival is back for 2015 with a new name, and a promise that it’s going to be bigger and better than ever before and yes! We will be returning to the picturesque and “tranquil” setting of Wiston Lodge in South Lanarkshire!
Wildfire brings its trademark mix of established names and new blood for three days of the very best in loud music. The first headliner for 2015 needs very little introduction from us, suffice to say we are delighted to have enticed genuine heavy metal legends Tygers of Pan Tang to Wildfire 2015.
Oh, you want another iconic name? Well the ultimate family friendly good-time festival needs a proper party band, a band that has played just about every other UK festival but couldn’t resist the draw of Wildfire’s lakeside setting; oh crikey it’s only Lawnmower Deth.
Next up, a band cited as an influence by no less than James Hetfield. Scottish heavy metal legends Holocaust will be making an exclusive festival appearance.
Adding Wildfire’s first splash of international colour, the hotly tipped Lord Volture are making the trip across from the Netherlands to grace our main stage. If you are a fan of classic, Priest, Saxon and Megadeth, or if you were lucky enough to have caught their recent set at SOS festival you will know they are not to be missed.
Returning closer to home and a must see for metal fans are NWOBHM legends, Tysondog, with a new Rocksector, record deal and a new album due to land in 2015 these guys have genuine bite!
Mixing things up a bit are 3 piece Alt/Rockers, Press to Meco after a resounding success at this years Festival it is a real coup to have them in Scotland next summer.
They will be ed by hard rock band The Mercy House; Killer riffs, monstrous vocals and more hooks than a slaughterhouse, said Kerrang and who are we to argue.
Completing this, our first announcement are British metal revivalists, Kaine, alt/rockers Ronin, heavious metallicus – their words not ours – Line of Fire, dirty rockin’ 3 piece Silverjet and mainly because guitarist KC threatened to cry if we didn’t, we’ve even found a spot for Leeds’ finest rock’n’roll miscreants The Idol Dead”
So there you have it, the first taster of what is in store for Wildfire 2015.
Extremely limited, early bird tickets are on sale now from www.wildfirefestival.co.uk or from www.les-fest.co.uk so what you waiting for?
