We got news of the Bathgate show through today and I confess we thought about whether it was relevant enough to  the site to publicise. After a brief conversation which pretty much consisted of statements such as “I love Johnny Cash”, “Oh, man – I can’t manage that night. Gutted”, and “No Cash, no Volbeat” we came to the conclusion that Johnny Cash was metal enough that a tribute show based on his works – especially one with as many great reviews as this one – deserves a mention.

The show is a semi-biographical one running for around two hours. As well as what is by all s a superb musical performance from Rick McKay and backing band Starkville City, the show tells a bit about Cash’s background and growth from playing bars to playing stadia. And of, course, all those brilliant songs along the way.

If one or two of us can make it to the show, I know we’ll be checking it out. Details for the Bathgate show are as follows, or on this link:

  • Thursday 31st March, 7:30pm
  • WEST LOTHIAN – Bathgate Regal Theatre
  • Box Office No: 01506 630085
  • Tickets – £17.00

This is the first of a run of dates, the rest of which you can find on the official website.
