There are so many great festivals across the UK and Europe that it’s hard to keep track of them all. However, it’s always a pleasure to find out about new ones and one which had slipped under our radar in the past is Symbolic Open Air. Hosted in the Czech Republic, it’s going to have one thing going for it above and beyond the music – good, cheap beer! So here are the details…
The continuation of the fourth edition of the Symbolic Open Air metal festival will take place from 1st – 4th July 2020 in Topolná next to Uherské Hradiště (Czech Republic). During four days, sixty-five bands from all over the world will perform on two stages, where fans from not only the Czech Republic but also from abroad will arrive.
The headliner of this edition is the legendary American formation Brutality, which will come to Europe after 24 long years, and for the first time ever to the Czech Republic where they will perform exclusively at Symbolic Open Air!
And since Symbolic is definitely not just about one name, you can look forward to perform of other famous names such as equally legendary thrashers from Denmark Artillery, Finnish Convulse, who will play their special set “World Without God”, “all stars” Liquid Graveyard (in their ranks are of Cancer, Napalm Death, Lock-Up, Brujeria, ex-Dimmu Borgir), Swedish death metal bands Demonical and Wombbath, Dutch Burial Remains and Italians Electrocution. Even black metal fans can look forward to the icons of the English black metal scene Hecate Enthroned or Brazilian blasphemers Mystifier. Of course there are also domestic bands like Secstacy, Forgotten Silence, Brutally Deceased, Tortharry and Trahir. And many others…
The new festival area in Topolná with extensive facilities brings many improvements this year, which will make your stay more pleasant and better, as well as a natural freely accessible lake within walking distance of about 3 minutes from the area where you can swim. The most noticeable changes for visitors will surely be classic showers and toilets, a second “club” stage, sheltered background in case of bad weather and, of course, an assortment of richer bars and taps with both – classic and special beers for very reasonable prices from 1,5 € / 0,5l. Among other things, lovers of all kinds of alternative meals will satisfied as they will be able to choose from meat, vegetarian, but also vegan cuisine. There is also an camp with parking place for fans.
