Portals Festival 2024 adds Wang Wen, Big | Brave, Slow Crush, Her Name is Calla (2024 UK Exclusive), Årabrot & more to the lineup. Already announced artists include headliners If These Trees Could Talk, alongside LITE, Elephant Gym, Enemies, and Town Portal.
Wang Wen, founded in 1999 in Dalian, are considered to be pioneers of the instrumental and post-rock scene in China. The band have released 12 albums and toured in more than 20 regions with their beautiful, melancholic, and polyphonic instrumental music, often compared to artists such as Mogwai and Jaga Jazzist.

Wang Wen are well known for their intense live shows, and their performance at Portals Festival looks set to rival some of the finest performances the festival has seen. We’re thrilled to be bringing them over for this special occasion.

Also announced are experimental-rock visionaries Big | Brave (Canada), shoegaze heroes Slow Crush (Belgium), post-rock legends Her Name is Calla (performing their only UK show of 2024), experimental post-punk Årabrot (Norway), post-rock favourites Lost In Kiev (), genre-defying experimental quintet Atsuko Chiba & up-and-coming alternative rockers Lawi Anywar.
They headliners If These Trees Could Talk, who will perform for the first time in the UK with a full-length headline set, in one of the most highly anticipated gigs for alternative & post-rock fans in 2024.

With over half the lineup now announced, we can’t wait to see the audience’s reaction as we think it’s possibly our best lineup yet. The number of bands we are bringing to London that haven’t played in years or, in some cases, never played makes us incredibly excited!
